The "Fizz Deluxe" was possibly one of the most expensive cocktails that has ever been on the market sitting at a clean $2,500 per glass. This luxurious mixture came from a bar located in the heart of Las Vegas, hence the bars name “Fizz Las Vegas.” Fizz, now closed, was a newer champagne bar owned by Steven Kennedy and Michael Greco, who partnered with Sir Elton John's husband David Furnish while opening the place. At the front of this bar you can get your typical 18 dollar mixed drinks, but if you were lucky enough to make it into the back lounge where all the celebrities hung out, you could have grabbed yourself a couple Fizz Deluxe’s and drink like royalty.

Why spend the money?

What exactly was so special about the Fizz Deluxe that made it worth $2,500 you ask? Let me break it down for you. Each mixed drink contained Dom Perignon, Grand Marnier Quintessence, Richard Hennessy, and was topped with 24 carat gold flakes. If you didn’t already know, some of these bottles I listed above are at least 100 years old. Just take a look at these luxurious bottles and learn about the value of each and maybe you will understand why this cocktail is worth $2,500.

Dom Perignon, otherwise known as “the godfather of champagnes” is the cheapest liquor mixed in this cocktail sitting at $400-$500 a bottle.

Grand Marnier Quintessence steps up the price a little. This French liqueur is made with the most precious cognacs from the private reserves of the Marnier Lapostolle family. It can be seen selling anywhere from $800 to a staggering $2000 a bottle.

Lastly we have Richard Hennessy. This Bottle is becoming increasingly rare due to the “eau de vie” (water of life.) “Eau de vie” is the brandy that goes into the blending process, which helps make this specific cognac. This particular brandy is becoming increasingly rare with every bottle that is being made, and soon will become extinct. A bottle of Richard Hennessy can be purchased from anywhere between $4,800 to $7,000. If you are looking to buy this bottle at the Fizz, be prepared to drop $14,000 on it!

How Bar Tenders Made The Fizz

The tender would start by putting the following into his cold shaker

• ½ oz egg white
• 3-4 dashes lemon bitters
• ½ oz lemon juice
• ½ oz of rose syrup
• ¾ oz Grand Mariner Quintessence 
• 1 oz Richard Hennessy
• Ice

The tender then strained the contents into the glass after it is shaken thoroughly and proceeded to dress it as follows

• Top with Dom Perignon
• Rose peddle on top corner
• Lastly of course it gets sprinkle it with 24 carat gold flakes
